Ive had a clio 182 before. And if standard it would be no where near as quick as the impreza.

You can't accept that a much lighter car with much less mechanical torque resistance can outperform a heavier car with only slightly more performance. The AWD only helps you off the line, once rolling it is actually a hinderance until cornering or traction requires grip again. I'll never forget my mates face when he was alongside me on the motorway and my little diesel Skoda pulled away from him from 50, right up to 110 where he started to slowly claw it back £500 spent under the bonnet on mine gets me a verified (Racelogic Driftbox (GPS datalogger)) 6s 30-70 time Yet I can get 60+mpg. A half-decent Scooby driver would rape me on a challenging country lane and especially off the line, but I've proven many times that there are a great many Scooby owners who are shy of that ability level, and they have to eat my soot

yup, the Clio is around 220bhp and weighs 1000kg's so will have better power to weight, you'd need around 270-280bhp for them to be equal as a rough guess... even then 4WD rolling losses would favour the lighter FWD car imo.

Guess i forget mines runnig 350bhp but even when i first imported her it she was running 280bhp so forget there are scoobys with a lot less power

NO clio (unless HEAVY modd'd) could keep up

I agree with that to a degree, however it depends on the circumstances. On a wet b-road the Impreza will walk all over one, however a UK 225bhp or classic 215bhp model on a track would more than struggle as the power advantage isn't enough to make up for the poor handling and braking if we're honest.

Obviously mod the Impreza and it's game over, but either way, it's good going for a 2.0 NA car, but I agree that 350bhp would be a step too far for 'most' Clio's! lol
