Question

Ok another question. ( why dont they put the answers in the manual)

1) How do I use this Change gear light/buzzer?
Instructions would be useful.

2) Any more answers on how and when I use the water spray feature?

Instructions are actually in the manual, but anyways....

Ignition on, turn the **** up or down to your preferred revs. Stop, wait until the display shows on/off or no numbers, tweak the **** to the right and you will hear a bleep confirming entry.

Water spray most useful when hot and dry (that one or two days we get every year) or when thrashing the beast on track. Not needed on the M25 (at least, the way I drive on it).

6 speed box mentioned on page 7-6 and the buzzer instructions are on page 3-7. I've set mine to 4000rpm to remind me not to play too much whilst running in. 1000 mile service is due on Saturday, and I can't wait to open her up properly

Probably a good idea. My manual mentions the new STi in several places throughout the book. Sounds like you might have got an old one.

The front cover of my book is half blue and white with Impreza subarus owner's manual on it.
On opening the front cover it shows two subarus one sedan with HGF008AA next to it, and one wagon with HGF009AA next to it.
IS your the same?
Just spoken with my dealership and they say they have only given me what came with the car.
Just spoek with head office and they reckon I have the correct manual.
On the back of your manual bottom right does it say in blue bold A1830GE

Thumbs down

havent picked the car up yet (1st march) but after viewing the car on saturday the dealer could see i was so exited that he gave me the handbook to read, and it seems to be the same half blue and white, with no ref to STi, 6 speed, water spray or rev light/buzzer, mind you i have learned a lot about how to clean it and get "good" fuel consumption !!!. But i dont want to read about it i want to drive it NOW!.

Test Drove the STI7 this weekend, didn't think it was all that much faster (if at all) than a standard wrx.... Like the seats though...mucho comfyo...has anyone else felt the back wanting to pull out...not like my old styleee car....Tried it with both cars and the same road.....my car gripped the STI 7 wanted to turn round....rear first !

Any comments..or am I just being daft and hungover !! ???

Exclamation

b'n'p
It isn't that the back of the STi feels like it is stepping out, but that the front Suretrac diff pulls the front round, particularly when you accelerate in a bend - takes some adapting to....

Dave
Carolyn has got a delivery date of 27 Feb on her car - wants to know how you set the gearchange light/chime to 7500 for running in

Bet Caroloyn is excited.
Ken G reported earlier in this thread as to how to set it up.
Subaru head office state that I have the correct manual.
Hmmm doesn't seem like it.
They have now faxed me through 2 pages that they state are amendments.
Yer right, A detailed picture of how the turbo works, doesn't help much.

I haven't got the book with me at work, but I'll check tonight and let you know...

Bnp, can't comment on the speed of the new WRX, but my STI is heaps faster than the standard UK MY00 turbo I traded in, and the handling is so much better, (less body roll, phenominal grip etc). Only 150 miles and a service to go, then I can try it properly

Maybe it's because my MY00 is not too standard anymore and will sit behind a P1 nicely !

I cannot believe the difference between MY99 and this one.
The comfort is great, sound level is so much better, travelling at 80 I can actual speak to my other half not shout at her, and build seems alot stronger.
I have only got 850 miles to go, came with 9 miles on the clock.

Right then, the book is blue / white the same, but it looks as though it is different. Inside the front cover are two subarus, a sedan (code HGF008AA) and a wagon (HGF036AA). The code bottom right on the back page is A1841GE. Sounds like a different manual to me.

Cheers,
Iain
