Hi All
Well I got a small stone chip on my screen yesterday, and that pissed me off.
Then this morning well see below. Chip = crack...
well and truly pi55ed off
So I phoned Tesco insurance who use Autoglass and they say it is safe to drive as it is laminated and they have booked me in for Tuesday morning as they do not have a screen in stock.

My question is it safe to drive?? The crack is not going down the screen but arcing back up.....

Pete

Thumbs up

I reckon it should be fine. Laminated screens are made up of alternate layers of glass and plastic, so although the glass may crack, the plastic won't. I had a similar crack in my screen last year and it was fine for a week until I got it replaced.

Andy.

I had done about 800 miles in my MY01 when the windscreen had a huge starburst from a stone. The fitter who came out smashed the new screen taking it out the van I had to wait about 2 weeks for a new screen to arrive and the cracks went no further than the edge of the screen.
