Price of scoobs
I was away on work last week when I spotted a 53 plate WRX for sale in a garage. It had 63K on the clock and 2 owners from new with FSH and was in pretty good condition, seemed cheap at £5295.
Is that a bargain or is it the going rate these days?

They're coming down all the time mate because of this 'credit crunch' we're in and the fact that the tax for them is about to go through the roof.
I bought my 2003 wrx 3 months ago with fsh 40k 2 owners, mint condition with the sti wing, lowered and a prodrive back box. Got it from a garage and paid £6995
When doing the research and looking around for one the cheapest i found at that time was £5995 but it had 120k on the clock and part service history!
Just goes to show how much they're coming down , hear you can get dog stis same age for around £8.5k these days

Seems the going rate-cheap as chips.Unless you have the means to buy a new car every year or so,we are all stuck with our lot.
Massive depreciation and rising costs.I honestly think think that the next few years might be the death of performance cars for the normal person.
However, manufacturers still churn out new ones.I'm seriously thinking about buying a BMW 330 d

Anything that is petrol and doesn't return a decent MPG has taken a massive depreciation hit. Even regular non performance petrol cars have slumped compared to their diesel equivalents i.e. 318 vs 320d.
Saying that though if you were in the market there are some pretty cheap cars out there. I've seen lots of Range Rovers, Porsche Cayennes up for peanuts around the £15-£20k mark will bag you a nice motor that cost well north of £50k only 3-4 years ago.
Quentin Wilson was right all along...I don't think I'm going to buy a new car or a nearly new car again.
