ecu remap question
Hi
Is it possible to specify two different maps when getting my ecutek wrx remapped.
I want a map with full power and pops and bangs, and another map just with full power.
I know usually you get a low power setting and a map with full power.
Is this the norm?
Will it cost more
How much is it for a remap on ecutek after you have had your first remap and paid for your license.
cheers

The two boost levels is available for most but not all.
Not aware of anyone charging extra, I dont.
As said the pops and bangs is on all the time if wanted but the severity of it can be altered.

AFAIK the (earlier) newage can have another map usually activated by full depression of the throttle and pressing the screen demister LOL
All it does is lower boost and nothing else !!
On later model cars there's a lot more space for maps but the ECU needs to know when to change via the OBD port

In that case i don't understand. Surely mapping the ECU alters the fuel the ECU demands etc? I know when i had my switchable map put on the 03 WRX the mapper said the fuel would have to stay rich as i had left 2 of the cats in although he would lean it out a bit.

the map switch is not a map switch but a boost level switch..
the fuel and ignition and lots of other stuff can and will be altered during remapping but the switching from one to the other of boost levels only will not effect the setup of the fuel and ignition. Therefore if it is set up to pop and bang it will pop and back on high and low boost settings.

lol..
antilag needed then really.. mine if I change gear normally with it switched on it gives one loud pop.. but changing gear with gusto you get no pop as it is not off the throttle long enough
Also the pops on overrun are very loud
