The light has to show up on the MOT when the ignition is 1st turned on and then it will go off. I am sure there will be a way but taking the bulb out won't achieve anything Apart from a MOT fail!

By the sounds of it you haevn't uplugged the seats yet. When you do, make sure the battery is off for at least ten minutes. Thats how you will avoid it coming on.

Yes, to avoid discharging the airbag.

Depends what you are doing, it wasn't clear it your first post.

Are you:

Un-plugging the airbag to add simular seats, therefore putting the plug back
in?

Or Unplugging them to leave them off?

If the first, and you do the battery thing, it shouldn't be a problem.

If the second, you will need a resistor fix, or have the light turned off with a select monitor.

You sure?? I took the seats out of a car I use for rallying, took the bulb out the dash too. Taken it for 3 mot's since and 3 straight passes. But that is on a less advanced car with no passenger airbag etc. I also changed out the steering wheel soon after. I'm only going on my own experience here and I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong but hey.

WHen you remove the seats a small electrical clip will still hold them in place. Disconnect this or as i did snip it off. Then chocolate block (white electrical strip with screws on top) the two wires you are left with in one side then a three ohm resistor in the other to complete the circuit. This should stop the light coming on!

Defo not an MOT fail only ABS light is a fail, as already said disconnect battery for at least 10mins then carry out repair, if worse comes to worse get faults deleted, if your using seats with no airbags you could always match up a fuse with the same resistance as the airbags and then bridge the wiriing out of the loom.

When I swapped from bugeye seats with airbags to seats without, I just put a resistor in each plug that the seat plugged into. System still lights up when starting then goes out as though the seats are plugged in.

No pics of it as once the resister was put in, I wrapped it in insulation tape so there is nothing to see now. I think they were either 2 or 2.2ohm resisters, if you can hang on until tomorrow evening when I get back home I can dig them out as I had some spares. Drop me a PM tomorrow to remind me and will give you some more details and can maybe chuck some in the post to you.

Default any news?

hey sorry to dig up an old thread - but did anyone find out what ohm resistors are needed to bridge the sensors?

thanks!
