<-- Gearbox gave up the ghost with less than 340ft/lbs of torque.

340/340 = 11.7secs @ 119mph 1/4mile

<----- 343 ft lbs with a VF35, still going strong.....touchwood etc..

I don't do qrt mile racing like BOB'5 though. It's a cruel on your transmission. Asuuming you have a healthy box, the car is mapped appropriately and you drive with mechanical sympathy, you should be ok.

Always sensible to budget for the worst, hope for the best, IYSWIM!

Budget around the 2.2k mark, closer to 3k if you need the clutch and flywheel replaced

I paid a lot less than that for mine

Mine's 400+ now, but not much of it is a UK turbo anymore

spec?

Frontmount and the usual Bolton's, main ingredients is the turbo, td05 18g.
I'm not sure if to remove my ported headers and try some g-specs could be a waste of money!!

All depends on driving style as stated, you can naff boxes up on standard power if drag and raced.
334 bhp 321ft lbs no probs as yet, but got my reddies ready for 6 speed.

alot of people told me not to go with a 18g turbo on here, as it was too much for what i wanted

330/310 Vf28 and standard box and clutch.

It does scare me when I floor it sometimes so I am as gentle as can be on the gearchanges.

333/361 MY98 with 2.5 block, updated clutch, standard gearbox. Been running this power for nearly three years, with no sign of any problems.

I always say the same thing in these instances: hope for the best, budget for the worst. I think thats the responsible advice to give someone.

426bhp/398lbft standard uk box

Replaced with recon 5 speed at 70k
Prefer 5 to 6 speed less gearchanges and you can pick one upfor less than £400
