Default Original owner of our WRX - odd?

Hey guys, not sure whether this is usual or normal, but our WRX service book shows the original owner as being Subaru UK Ltd then in brackets (Andrew Coster). Address is Ryder Street, West Bromwich. Its the same details as the selling dealer a bit lower down.

Does this mean that this car was a development car of some sort?

Edit: The selling dealer stamps says INTERNATIONAL MOTORS LTD as do the first two service history stamps.

Development car

Not likely. It was either a demonstrator or as some dealers do to meet there targets for the year they register their unsold stock allocation in their name and then sell it on for minimum profit.

Subaru UK register their own cars for a number of reasons, Press car's, Prodrive cars/development cars, demonstrators, show cars etc the fact you have a name in brackets next to yours will probably mean it was a company/employee car, perfectly the norm and nothing to be worried about. Ryder Street in West Bromwich is Subaru UK's old head office.

An awful lot of Subaru's have IM as their first owner, particularly the slower selling Legacies etc. Subaru typically register them and then move them on after three-six months and sell as a secondhand car ('ex-management car' is the euphemism used). A lot of manufacturers do this, especially with poor selling models. Its a way of shifting metal without being seen to be discounting. I bet there was a lot of this going on last month

Yeh, that sounds more likely. I guess the guy on the phone wasnt going to tell me that they registered it because sales were crap, lol.
