Tyre load, please explain??
Excuse my ignorance on tyres etc, i have been intouch with a garage i use to fit my tyres and they can do me a good deal on F1 ASYMMETRICS, BUT HE SAID THE LOAD RATING IS 94 on them, now i,m lost....lol obviously this is a strength thing yes?? would 94 be ok then???
Edited to say, just had a peep on the Bridgestones that are on and it says
93w, is that the rating then??

Yes... that is the load rating.
94 would be absolutely fine and normally anything more is only required for something like an estate. 93 would also be OK.
You have an ultra (compared to others) light car, and unless you intend in loading your car up with 25 people, you will be OK.

Just for your info I've got the 225/45 x 17 94Y XL F1A's. Last time I looked that was the only load rating they do. As long as you pick an equivalent or higher load rating to the manufacturers spec then your fine. The load rating is the number, the speed rating is the letter. The F1A's are XL or eXtra Load. its just the load index mate aslong as you don't go below the std recomended one you will be fine think extra loads are on things like passat's and the new saab 93's but would be fine i have them on my classic.
