Default Classic door lock motor

Do early classics have a locking motor on the drivers side. Reason for asking is I want to fit remote locking to my car and was wondering if I need a motor for it.
Ive tried locking and unlocking it from pass side but that only locks/unlocks that door.
Thanks.

you will need a slave motor for the drivers door if you intend to fit remote central locking. maplins do em.

edit: that motor can then be used to operate the drivers lock which then in turn locks all the other doors.
