Angry Paint splashes on bodywork

Hi,

father-in-law's painted his fence with my Scooby parked on the other side.

Unfortunately the combination of the wind and small spaces in the fence has resulted in sh*t loads of small paint specs of the fence paint (Cuprinol and the sort) all over the car!

It's smooth to the touch and hasn't left a raised surface and as yet I've not tried anything!

I'm gutted and don't know what to do - any suggestions?

HELP!!!! I feel sick to the stomach - especially as I'm due to take it for an engine rebuild tomorrow!!!

A clay bar should remove that with out a problem, just need to wax and polish it afterwards. If you were closer I'd offer to do it.

Aye, it's not hard to use fella.

Basically in a kit you should get the bar itself (sometimes 2), lubricant and a microfibre cloth. Pretty simple to use.

When I bought a clay bar kit (Meguiars kwik clay) from Halfords, I did the following...
  1. Soak the clay bar in a bowl of warm water to soften it (5 mins)
  2. Made sure the car was washed
  3. Spray plenty of lube onto say a 18"x18" size square
  4. Squish the clay bar into like a square biscuit shape
  5. Rub forwards and backwards making sure the area is lubed
  6. You should notice tar/grime and the paint etc. come off after a few rubs
  7. When the surface of the paintwork feels like glass, wipe off excess lube with microfibre
  8. Repeat on whole car
If you look on the www.polishedbliss.co.uk website, the above is basically detailed further, but that's the basics dude. Afterwards if you have removed 99.9% of the tar/paint etc. the cars bodywork should feel like glass and be really smooth to the touch. I've done my old Scoob now sold), and my current 20 year old Peugeot - the Pug's before and afters were astonishingly different!!!

Clay bars are good though.
