Default PPP Exhaust Question on Noise Levels

Hi all,

I'm still deciding whether or not to have my MY06 Spec D "PPP'd" or not, does anyone know how much louder the PPP exhaust is? I'd like a little more noise when driving fairly hard, but don't want something that's going to make the car sound too loud (I want to keep it fairly discreet still).

Cheers

The PPP in my opinion is pretty tame, I have heard some people fit a de-resonated centre section for more "umph" and a de-cat will make it even louder.
Personally I went for a Blitz NuR Spec R and fit the bung if I want discreet

So you reckon it's not overly loud then?

the PPP back box is nice and quiet

my car had a TSL firestorm on it when i first got the car and it pissed me off within a month. it was very loud

so i put the PPP back box on its much, much quieter, at motorway speeds you can barely it and i've got a striaght through center section.

the sound is a lot richer when on full throttle too rather than just loud.

with a standard centre section i reckon the PPP back box isn't much louder than standard.

I've had 2 cars with it on. Nice and quiet on the motorway, growls when you give it some.

^^^^What he said. I've had a PPP fitted and not noticed a massive difference in exhaust note.

I have it on my spec D.
It is not very loud though it is fairly low in frequency and can be heard from a distance.
It certainly will sail through any trackday requirements.
I got a JGM remap as well and it runs better from lower down the revs.
Maybe worth a thought.
Have you thought about non PPP like those avail from Powerstation - more bangs for your buck as you guarantee will run out soon?

Cool, thanks all.

Cster - yes, I've considered that, I want to keep it Subaru approved.
