Default HONDA TYPE R STOLEN AT GUNPOINT

My mate had his front door kicked off at 10 pm last night by two scum bags, who demanded the keys to his 07 plate new shape black civic type r. One had a kitchen knife and they said they had a gun (not sure if they did or not) This happend in solihull and is the sceond one in two weeks, same style of theft and exact same cars. Is there a spate of thefts of honda's at the moment. My mate is pretty pissed off as you can imagine.

Really bad news. Feel really sorry for him.

What I don't get is why these scum go to so much trouble to nick a car worth £15k (and sometimes less), when there are cars around worth 10 times that. Any newish Merc, Porker or BM is far more valuable.

This has been happening for years.

Its not car specific.

In the close encounter I had, the cars were being used by bank/security van robbers.

Result of the Police stance on high speed pursuits IMHO.

They can have my car, thats why I pay insurance. I'm not risking myself or my family for a car.

Glad he is ok....

Solihull is quite a nice area too, shows it can happen anywhere.

We have a german shep and a Samurai sword within reach of my bed. If they get past them, they can have what they want.

....not worth it, some of these scum bags wouldn't think twice about harming you of your family, don't risk it mate, though I do think you should be able to do more too defend yourself and your property but the law always seems to be on the side of the crim and not the decent law abiding folks who become the victims.

The trick is too make it as hard as possible for them. I have steel external doors&frames. They have a real wood veneer so look good but it would be laughable for someone too try and kick them in.

Spal have a device that will let the thief's drive the car away be it from a Car Jacking or by way of stealing your keys for a set period and then immobilise it. Been thinking of getting one fitted myself.
