I am really considering getting a full weld in cage but would need the car fully stripped before this could happen.

How much does everyone reckon to drop all the running gear and fuel tank off of a newage? Oh and the dash etc. Basically back to a shell i guess!

And then to refit it all again.

With any car that has a cage fitted, there is a compromise as to what can be refitted (and used) ie rear seats etc.

I'm guessing you will be using this as a track car mainly though.

The labour costs will be a fair bit I'd have thought, a specialised company that prepares rally cars will be the best bet. To get an accurate figure, you'll have to phone them and tell them your exact needs.

Can you not strip out the interior yourself? If your carefull with putting screws etc in plastic bags and tape them to the parts you remove, it won't be too difficult to refit later. It will save a lot of cash.

What sort of cage were you considering?

Well I was thinking of going the whole hog and going for full WRC stylee. Through the bulk head to strut tops etc!!! Wont be for a while but funds are definatly the limiting factor!

Yeah I could do the internals myself without any trouble. I would be confident in the running gear etc as well but time is always a factor that im pretty short on.

You might as well do it properly get the body seam welded too. The cost will be substantial though, whether you do or not.

Only you know what you think youre doing. Dont underestimate what a massive job it is to strip a car and weld in a full 2004 onwards multipoint cage though.

Thats why I was looking to pay someone to do it as the time is short. Have built a couple of rally cars already so know the kind of work involved and how long things actually take compared to what you think they take when you start out on a nice sunny afternoon and end it all on a rainy saturday night mid winter!!!
The idea wasnt to build a rally car out of it really but when the cage is in who knows where it will end up!
