Angry Warranty fix or will I have to pay

Hi All,

I have a GB270 Sports wagon which has a fluid leak from the front which is dripping over the bumper.

The car was recoverd by Subaru assist (Excellent Service from them) with a possible coolant leak. The fluid was clear not like engine oil and smelled like cats pee.

Question. If this is damage to the rad will this be covered under warranty? I have a feeling it won't, and if not any ideas as to what it might cost. It could be several other things, but this looks like the most likely cause.

Gutted as the cars not even a year old yet, but hey poo happens

Any advise would be great.

Cheers

Dave

I had a failed air condition rad on my Legacy... was covered under warranty until they found the stone hole that caused it to leak... then it was "tough"

A cats pee smell may be from power steering fluid instead.
Is the leak on the drivers side?

If they say thats its not covered say if its prone to be hit by something while driving why doesn't it have protective covering? Really give them hassle, dealer & Subaru UK and all car dealers now a days deserve it, service departments nowadays will try and get away with murder its all about profit for them.

Even if you get half of the cost it will be worth it, Sometimes being an irate customer can pay off, REMEMBER its what you Paid for.

I've never had an issue with Subaru and warranty. As I type I'm waiting to head off to have my ECU checked under warranty.Car is 35 months old.

I had a rad replaced 2 months ago under warranty as the top of it cracked randomly when coming on boost on my drive to work. My car is 6years old with a proven warranty.

Thanks for the info guys .

I'm holding out for the warranty bit could do with a break, had to replace the windscreen last week £60 then payed my highway robbery tax £400 yesterday .

I don't think I could cope with another bill this month .

Thanks once again for the feedback.

New Prodrive ECU ordered by the dealer. It showed a fault code for the actuator and tumblers on the intake manifold which were replaced under warranty. Same code showed again, so a new ECU it is.
