i think the 18g wont be enough for you,i got a 18g on my 03 wrx and thats at 356.9bhp at the moment but i think you will only get 360-370bhp out of one

400bhp from a 18g is a big ask - even the 20g turbos seem to struggle to make it consistently. 400+bhp has been had from both though.

18g has better midrange and is what I would choose unless running a high rpm limit. Indeed, I will be fitting a 18g to mine shortly, with lots of boost midrange it should make for a quick car.

This might help: https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...-td05-20g.html

I went for a 20g because of the top end bhp. And the 18g has slightly more midrange torque, but didn't want to put even more stress on the gearbox. And I still ***** foot around in 2nd and 3rd.

But if you have a high rev limit (ie, 8000rpm), the 20g will pull all the way through until the red line, which makes for a great 4th gear on the motorway.

Just to add, look at "my scooby" for the kind of upgrades you'll need. A 20g (or 18g) will need a remap, 550cc injectors, FMIC and best to have a 3" exhasut to otherwise you'll not get 400bhp. Even with the stuff I've got, I'm probably around the 360bhp to 380bhp mark - not entirely sure, but have a rolling road visit planned in late October.
