Refurbing an early classic turbo 2000
I've got an old 1994 turbo, which is mint! has been treated very well, always serviced etc.
It's now done 100k, and it still running sweet. However, I've heard stories that the engines can take a nasty turn with no warning! what sort of cost am I looking at to re-build parts of the engine that are likely to fail at high mileage? just thinking, might be worth getting it done now incase It does take a nasty turn with no warning and destroys other parts that could have been avoided?
any help?
thanks!

If your car has a history, is allowed to warm up before being extended beyond 3-3.5k, and is generally looked after ( I assume it is a cherished car, judging by your post) I wouldn't worry. There are plenty of owners on here with cars that have covered well in excess of your mileage. Many of them are seriously modded too. By all means put money aside in case it happens, but in the meantime enjoy it and reat it with respect.
At that sort of mileage , original shocks will be beyond their best, as will the bushes. Spend a few £ on these and your car will be transformed. I changed my last car (03 WRX PPP)when it had 34k on the clock. I couldn't believe how soggy it felt, compared to the new one.
Best of luck. Bob
