Got a question about SantaPod Japshow
Hi, Have been looking at the Santa Pod Website and saw that the Japshow Finale is on at the beginning of October. (I haven't had a Japanese car before this one so didn't know about this event
Anyway, Sunday 5th October looks really good. Only thing is, I wouldn't mind taking my car out on the drag strip while I'm there as I haven't done that before.
Does anyone know if anyone can have a go at the quarter mile on this day or is it only open for show cars with 1000bhp?
Excuse my ignorance on this event.

No need to book in advance, just make sure you're there early to sign on as the queue can be huge.
Also be prepared for a very long wait between runs.

I live close to Santa pod and is a cracking day out, You won't have no probs getting on the strip at all bud! Only thing i will say tho is you might need a skid lid helmet if you are going to be doing more than 110mph (I think it is) (Same with convertibles!)

will try and dig out my dad's dusty old 80's crash helmet just in case I reach over 100mph terminal speed. If I do I'll be surprised though. Looking forward to this day out looks great

BIG thanks man
BOB'5 - The queues are horrendous!
You will find yourself queuing for half the day if you want to run.
Can spoil the day IMHO and better to go along just to watch - then attend a normal RWYB day.

Top two (you can just about see them in the pic) ambers are staging lights, they will both light up when you are in the correct position
Next set of ambers is "ready"
Green is "go"
Red is jumped light

Nah mate, they're a bit quicker than normal lights, they caught me out when I first went. A 200sx left me
I personally prefer to go up on the Saturday RWYB as it's better value for money, BUT June this year was a pain with the weather n all.......

hehe, cheers for the replies. Never knew what those ambers were for, shows how much I know :-) Looking at the youtube clip it looks like the green lights up straight after the ambers so will have to watch out for that. I don't want to be left behind by a 200sx either
The Sunday rwyb is putting me off a bit due to the queues that have been mentioned. Is there a big queue for subsequent runs too?
