Classic production ended in 2000, however a few sat around unregistered until the 51 plate.

My old P1 was registered as a late Y. I've seen a few classic 51 reg's.

There seem to have been a few, even though they stopped making the classic in 2000, there must have been a stock of unsold, unregistered cars that made it out to dealers later, and these were registered as 51 plates.

When I purchased mine I got a cracking deal as Subaru were giving the dealers ££££ incentives to get rid of the classics on a 'y' plate. I wanted to hold out for the '51' but the dealer couldnt do so.

Yeah, doesn't seem so strange when you think about it.

My mate had a Blobeye Sti on an 06 plate, even though the Hawkeye came out on a 55 plate.

one slight difference on the 52 plate
that is actually an old car regsitered differently due to being registered overseas twice!
