Good value?

IMHO... No.
With all the sympathy in the world to people who are struggling with money, it is definitely a buyer's market. A lot of people just can't afford to keep them anymore. And there doesn't seem to be a lot of people buying cars. Things like Parker's price guide are well off the mark at the moment.
With the weather turning, you'll be soon be able to spot the ones that have been trying to sell for a while by the photos. Make them an offer...

Hard to tell without knowing the cars history. If it was a 2 or 3 owner car with FSH car, standard and unabused then why not. Buy a dog for £2500 and you could spend that on putting it right. Proper cars will always be worth more, credit crunch or otherwise. Good luck with your purchase
