Bike rack or roof bars??
#1
I am recently the proud owner of a MY99 Turbo saloon.
My old bike rack doesn't fit so what should I do? Buy and alternative rack or get roof bars? (which might spoil the look of the car a bit).
Any suggestions?? I need to get MTB'ing to lose all this Christmas fat.

Suggest you get a Tow bar fitted and use a decent cycle rack. The last thing you want is stones and mud dripping on the roof.
I do a lot of racing so need to take the bike around a lot during the season, but understand your concern about spoiling the look of the car. I have just had a “Witter” tow bar fitted on MY00, which is great as you can remove the rear plate section by taking out four bolts. This leaves nothing protruding from the rear and only a couple of 6mm end sections visible if you look in from the back. Really neat. The electrical socket is also fitted and set back in slightly, so zero sticky out bits.. cost was £152 fitted. (Southampton)
I also recommend the “Pendle” racks where you just drop the bike into a couple of runners and strap it to a vertical pillar. If you need supplier details, just ask.
