I looking to buy a Subaru fairly soon and would like to know what everybody else would buy around my price bracket (£14,000 - £16,000) im a speed freak so im looking for something quick.

Subaru Malta at this time have some brand new stock of WRX hatchbacks selling them at good prices and these are UK spec. with 3 years Pan european warranty their web site is SUBARU Malta | Home

If you are a speed freak, then you have to get an STi. You won't be satsfied by a WRX, especially the new one.
You can get a nice STi with PPP (the proper saloon version) for that money.

You don't have to go to Malta you can get a WRX new from the dealer for 15.5-16k....

Have checked WRX UK specs with 3 years pan european warranty Malta price £11500 import duty included you need to pay vat and freight through the shipping agent so altogether £13850

I wouldn't want one, and I think the Golf GTI, Focus ST etc. are better cars, but they cost around £20k for a 5 door and don't have 4WD. At under £14k then they start to look reasonable (if you have to have a new car.)
