Default Just got spanked

Gently overtaking a Golf GTI Club "convoy" on a duel carrageway out of town.. lights turn red just as I am alongside the lead GTI... it's all stripped out, roll cage etc etc.. great I think.... I've got 6 GTI's to my left... and they're not going to miss out on a chance to prove their throttle boddies have given them Impreza whooping performance....
the road by now is 2 miles of empty duel carrageway...so I'm thinking why not.... BMW 5 series behind, looked like a 530D, nothing the scooby cannot handle...

Light change and as predicted the Golf's lighting up his tyres and I click into S# mode and by 2nd I'm clear ahead...job done... no "I beat an Impreza in my super dooper GTI" down the pub later on...

I look in my mirror and the bloody 5 series is still up my chuff... blimey I think... pull over (while maintaining WOT) and he's past me in an instant... flipping new M5... christ they're quick.. ..

Difference in perfomance was the same as between me and the GTI..

Suitably humbled.. I back off and we both cruise to the M-way junction where I give him him the ..

At 512 bhp he should spank you. Private road of course. be happy that your car cost pennies by comparison.

Think to yourself; what is most people's opinions on drivers of BMWs?

He may be quick but he has to live with that everyday

I would! M cars are about the only BMWs that are acceptable. That said, a mate with an M3 says the worst thing about owing it was the other owners!!

Although I'd prefer to just stick a forged 2.5 in my classic and then give Mr BMW a surprise!

Fair play, I wouldn't chuck one out of my garage.

I've just come from driving a BMW (not an M though). I forgot what it was like to be let out of a junction until I bought the Scoob...

Have to agree, worst people i meet when driving the M3 is other BMW owners, particularly the 316's, 320's etc.

I always check and observe most scoobs, to assess their potential, before having a play in the M3.

If i am in the scoob, i dont care, because there isnt much on the road that will stick with it

Best of both worlds

The new M5 is of course very quick - I had a decent rip with one and the M5 flat out came of second best against my not so standard 2.5! The guys face in the M5 was worth every penny I spent on my car when I went past him... ps this all of course occurred on a private road somewhere in a galaxy far far away..
