Hawkeye seats are rubbish - anyone 'fixed' them?
So I've had my 07 STI for just under a year now and while I find the seats pretty unsupportive the missus finds they kill her back on any drive over 30 mins. I have to say the blobeye seats are a million times better which is very strange. The hawkeye ones are just too padded and pretty uncomfortable even for me at times.
Has anyone had them 'fixed' either by having the padding changed or taken any other steps to make them half-way acceptable for a 27k sports car?
Cheers,
David

I didn't know that they were any different from the blob STi seats. I have to say I find mine quite good, could do with a bit more support, but generally ok. Mind you, I went from a WRX SL with leather to these, so I dont slide around like I used to!.

The 2 hour drive home when I first picked up the hawkeye got a bit uncomfortable after about an hour, (back started hurting). Seats in my bugeye were much more comfy tbh.
Anyway I ended up changing the wrx seats for blobeye sti seats. Much happier now

I would buy a pair of mint blobeye seats tomorrow. Mine are far too padded on the rear and shove you off the seats floor plus dont have any bolster support. I sat in the 330S Recaros and nearly fell asleep in them.

I have moaned at the dealers every time i go in about the Hawkeye seats as does a mate, we both have 06 STI's, the problem is that the seat now have side airbags.
we both sat in the 330's at the McRae gathering and the Recaro seats are what should be fitted to all STI's as standard

Yep those Recaros are just so nice! Suprised that its taken this long for them to come standard with STIs. Evos, Hondas and even the RS have been getting them for ages now, and as said, you would expect some better seats for a £27k sports car

Bug eye seats where easily the best from the factory. I found the blob eye when I had it less supportive but back in the bug now and love them and I'm not a small lad.

this is strange for me, because its almost as if my blob sti seats are a perfect fit, ive never sat in a car that fits me so perfectly, possibly why i love it so much.

UK Hawkeye's have side airbags which makes the seats very narrow. I find them very uncomfortable and a reason not to like the car. My legs rest on the side bolsters and you sit 'on' the seat rather than 'in' it. A lot of EU-import Hawkeyes had seats without side airbags - which are a lot more comfortable, I think they are similar to the seats fitted to blobeyes.
