You should be able to stay in your hotel or villa and complete your holiday. In most cases, your accommodation provider will be paid direct by the CAA so you will not incur any additional expenses. If you need to make any payments for items like hotels or transfers, you should obtain a receipt as far as possible. The CAA will be able to consider claims for refunds for these amounts.
A flight will be arranged to bring you home by the CAA. You can check with your holiday representative for information about any changes to your flight arrangements, or check on the ATOL website (www.atol.org.uk). For those customers in particular distress please contact the CAA’s help line on telephone number +44 (0) 2891 856 547.

If you think there in the ****, my wife worked for XL (Travel City) and was booking people on holidays up to 20.30 on Thurs night. She went home from work at 21.00 and the first thing she new about the bankruptcy and administration was when we saw it on BBC News24 at around midnight.
I wish all we had to worry about was a lost holiday, my wife will recieve no pay and now has no job, the company owe's her around three grand which she has no chance of getting.
The coverage by the media and the reaction by the CAA has been scandelous, the CAA would'nt let XL aircraft land in the UK and diverted them to Paris. THIS COUNTRY WOULD'NT TREAT ILLIGAL IMIGRANTS TRYING TO ENTER THE UK TO SPONGE OFF OUR WELFARE SYSTEM LIKE THAT. THEY WOULD WELCOME THEM WITH OPEN ARMS AND THROW FREE MONEY AT THEM. How can the CAA treat British citizens in that manner, preventing UK aircraft carrying UK citizens from landing in this country.
Then the media is stating that passengers of XL were recieving no information and no XL staff were available to offer advice and guidance...........Er hello, hello all XL staff are redundant, sacked, down the road, potted, escorted off premises by mob handed bouncers with no pay, no explanation, no job. Some of my wifes colleagues had even booked their own family holidays, all lost, together with jobs. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
