Question Bug STI PPP - A few questions

I might go for a look at this tomorrow;

Auto Trader UK - SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0 WRX STi Prodrive 4dr** UK CAR WITH F/S/H**=

It's on the advert as an STI prodrive, but i'd like to make sure that it has the PPP.
I know a certificate should be present to prove it's been fitted, but are there any other things I can check to make sure?

Am I right in thinking it should be around the 305 bhp figure?

Any opinions on it judging by the advert?

Cheers

Believe you can call Subaru with the chassis/reg number and they can confirm but the certificate should be there. Appears tidy from the pictures, check for knocking rear shocks or if they've been replaced, not sure on price, 305 bhp is spot on, well recommended as went from one of these to current car late last year.... worth a look at least.

Thanks mate. I reckon the price is a bit high so I might see what deal can be done. It's a buyers market at the minute so we'll see if they're keen to sell.

Are Bugeye STI's with PPP rare compared to Blobeye models?

There doesn't seem to be as many about

it dont have ppp fitted a prodrive sti bug refers to the bodywork and styling prodrive desinged some cosmet styling for these cars it should have blue clocks aswell as a few other bits if you look at the pic in the advert you can see it has a prodrive bumper hope this helps
btw these are probably the most desirable bugeyes

Thanks for clearing that up. I suspected it was something like that rather than the PPP. I don't intend to mod whatever I buy (been there, done that) so i'd like one with PPP so it's reasonable quick.

Am I going to struggle to find one because they don't seem to be very common?

There are a few threads talking about the bugeye Prodrive style STi, you may be worth getting a non ppp one and then just spending a bit of money on some mods and a remap which will end up getting you more than the 305bhp from the PPP.

I had a one that was PPP'd and ending up decatting having a few other mods and a remap by Mocom Racing and was RR'd at 350 ish.

I've thought about it but i'd like to stay away from modding if possible, but it might be my only option.

Seems a good price for the mileage, and agree avoid PPP as a decent exhaust, fuel pump and re-map will get around 330 bhp.

LOL

They are - there were only 750 imported to start with (first official UK STI - hey good Scoobynet name!)

I have one and it needed the PPP to get it going, so you would need that or an aftermarket solution.
