Default What spare when using 18's ?

Ive got a set of 18" alloys but only a 17" space saver. My spare 18" dosen't fit properly in the recess,so..what are the alternatives?.
Can you get an 18" wheelsaver (which id prefer) as i ve heard bad reports on the aerosol can tyre repair stuff-mainly,once you spray it,your tyre cannot be re-repaired.

If the rolling radius is the same (which it should be, because upping the rolling radius is dangerous), then the '17"' size of your space saver isnt an issue.

If your rolling radius is greater, then your brakes are less effective (for the doubters/hard of thinking, its simple physics), which leaves you in a precarious position with your insurance company and deeply in the sh*t when you have to make an emergency stop.....

Have been using the s/saver for a couple of days without issue. But i think the sheer fact that my car isn't level on the lacking corner, makes me think that the car probably wasn't 100% stable.
Was thinking of trying to find a slimmer 18" steel wheel to fit in the recess...

I think its as GC8 says, the rolling radius should be the same whether you've got 17's or 18's on. Providing you got the right sized tyres for your 18's that is.

This may help:

As far as I know the majority off places will repair tyres that have been treated with this trye seal stuff, have been advised that most will charge you a small extra for cleaning out the affected tyre thou.

not heard any bad reports myself but do remember its a temp measure ie. designed to get you to your nearest quick fit etc !!!

Cheers guys.
Have put my s/saver back in the boot. Its only ever a temporary measure,so whilst driving within the capabilities of the tyre,i should be ok.
Thanks for the replies

I agree with those above

I have 18"s and keep my old full size 17" in the Boot, also and a tyre weld jobby

I'd also fit the S/Saver to the rear if a Front tyre had gone

IMHO
