Tried telling this guy it isn't a ver3 sti
Subaru Impreza Sti Ver 3 Fresh Import 300+ BHP on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 01-Sep-08 08:42:24 BST)
Here was his reply to me saying it wasn't:
Nice one, says ver3 on all paperwork, subaru uk also confirmed by chassis no. It was ver4 that had the facelift bonnet, headlamps, grille, bumper and intake pipework as far as i'm aware. Maybe ver3 came out earlier in Japan. Is missing the front bumper lip and intercooler is missing the chrome trim with sti badge. Thanks for your interest.
Why would you go to Subaru to check it was a ver3 anyway? Tried saying about intercooler etc
Am I right in thinking that the power would be about 240bhp for a ver 2 sti? Did they have the manifold painted?
All i'm saying it for is because I get sick of people selling a 350bhp scoobie on ebay and its basically a 215bhp model.

I'm a bit worried about all the kit that was "allegelly" removed prior to import, and the car's been mapped to have them still there.... or has he re-fitted all the standard i/c gear etc and paid for another re-map? all in 2 months?

Definatly a version 2!
Its got the slanty intercooler, earlier maf sensor, TD05 turbo looking at the top entry.
Earlier rear bumper, rear lights front headlights front seats etc etc.
Doesnt mention the mileage which leaves you wondering a bit.

Just had an email back from the guy after I sent him the link to this post.
if your not interested then why bother messaging me? I'm not claiming to be an expert, this is my first one and I know nothing of them other than what I've been told, on Japanese paperwork it says ver3, thats all I've got to go by. I checked with subaru because the dvla have just put impreza on the log book and wanted to confirm it was in fact a sti which it was. Its not running early 200bhp otherwise it would not stay on the **** end of my mates 06 evo 9 which is running over 3oobhp as standard. I've said any inspection welcome, got nothing to hide and am not trying to pull the wool over anyones eyes, just want to sell car before my court case.
Not saying it is close to 200bhp? Was just asking what the v1&2 stis had bhp wise.
& I guess as he's not trying to pull the wool over anyones eyes then he'll be changing his description to a v2.

There was a ad on ebay a while back that listed a 97 wrx as a 300ps sti.
Had all the sti badges seats ect... but the engine and intercooler was clearly of a wrx.
I emailed seller to correct his mistake but he didn't reply or correct ad.
Felt sorry for the winning bidder
