Why is it that some STI cars come with the pink stars badge and others come with a pink i on them even if it the same model,yr etc.

Is there any significance to this (built in a different factory) or were they just randomly applied?

I've alway's thought the "i" badge was an aftermarket add on... where as the pink stars were standard JDM import.

Not too sure about the classics... but I'm sure all the pink badges one newages are self-applied.

Mine's got the pink i but it's definately a jdm import=type-r v4

Sorry Micky, my note may have been slightly missleading...

I thought the stars badge was the standard subaru badge

ie: JDM STI's all had pink star badges but some had the i badge added as an aftermarket cosmetic replacement by their 1st owners.

Pink Badges indicate there is a Poof at the wheel.
