'98' prodrive
Hi chaps just some advise really. i was on the board a while ago with a wrx wagon.
I am looking at a 1998 WR prodrive, for £5000. it is in good condition, with good miles, and even electric front recaro's.
really is the prodrive model special in anyway?
are there many of them?
does this price seem realistic, it just confuses me with the different models and prices ie sti RA wr wrx version 1 2 3 4 5
what does it all mean. i just don't want to spend £5000 on somthing that is worth £3000. it does look nice, blue with gold wheels.
any help please?
i am in essex

Hi there and welcome.
Can you give some indication of the condition, miles, service history and if private or in a stealership of any sort?
If you go onto the SIDC website and have a look at thier FAQ section they have a detailed asses mant of the models and differences.
'Prodrived' can mean different things, usually power and suspsnesion although there are interior upgrades - from memory!

Looks like a nice car for the money, particularly if you are looking for a car with brake and suspension upgrades already fitted, but.... the spoiler isnt the correct one for a WR so that may have been changed - it should be the high level WRC replica with Prodrive embossed into the sides of the uprights.
The problem is that there were official WR Sports, which had everything on them, or you could choose from whatever parts from the catalogue you wanted to fit from the interior, exterior and performance packages.
If it is an official WR Sport, it should have the badge on the back on the right hand side, and a Prodrive Impreza sticker on the left - although these could have been removed.
I would check with the seller exactly what is fitted, and make sure it is everything that should be on there if he is selling it as being a WR rather than a standard UK Turbo with some of the WR package added ( which is what my car is ).
