Default Decision time!

Right then guys and girls its decision time.

In order to get more power im gonna need to fit a front mount, obviously when fitting it im gonna need to hack the front bumper to pieces!
The problem is this, the bumper that is on my car is a rare Trial bumper that I actually really like.

So do I bit the bullet and destroy the bumper in order to get more power
Or do I leave it the way it is and stick with the power that I have?

No im not gonna get a 99 spec bumper to hack up instead.

Couple of pictures to help you decide.

Cheers folks

Their is an easy solution to this, just make up your bhp and torque figures as thats what the majority do on here and hey presto you have more power with your bumper firmly in tact. Anything under 600 bhp will be fine, any more and people will think your taking the mickey.

P.S Enjoy your new BHP figures and drive safely until you get used to the extra power

Well as front mounts come in different shapes/sizes marcus, can't you get one to suit the main bumper insert in the middle, to minimize cuttage?

Use some card or something as a stencil so you don't hack more than required?

Or get a later spec (newage) STi topmount. These are rated to big bhp aren't they?

My understanding is that top mounts are good for around 350 bhp

What sort of power are you after? There was an STi Forester at Mocom when i was there last week, with 400bhp running a top mount.

if you cut the bumper i reckon it would look ok, uprated top mount is a good idea though if you dont wanna chop your bumper

This is sad perhaps but i have a picture of the Trial Tuning impreza that was in Max Powers 'Beasts from the East' video and by the looks of it has a front mount but with no cutting of the bumper.

personally i would remove the bumper and store it in the garage,,,,, just so you dont damage it

or even sell it on a maxpower website
