Default Can I find out if I've been caught by speed camera?

Does anyone know of a website where I can check whether I've been clocked by any speed cameras? Think I may have been done last week: someone told me that those flashing 'slow down' signs have cameras on top of them that relay images to a central database - in which case I've been done several times
Did find a website on google but it was fake site; said I'd been caught in Newquay (haven't been there in years) then when I clicked on 'view picture' it showed me laughing face with caption 'you've been set up' - LMAO - not.

Any sugestions anyone? Thanks

Wait for a ticket, it should come within two weeks.

If no tickets arrives, you've not been caught, or lukily not reported in time.

Dont think theres any truth in the 'slow down' signs statement. Could be wrong though. If I am I have been done over 100 times

Also, I think the camera you are referring to is just the sensor/radar thingy that tells your speed.

I've known others to think the same so don't worry, but no i seriously doubt that the slow down sign had a speed camera fitted for the purpose of issuing you with a fine.
On the other hand, Go slow: police win the right to camouflage speed cameras - Times Online

Oh and be sure to watch out for these too! Hidden speed camera

Thank you It's nice to know that not everyone on here uses this forum as a platform to demonstrate their superior intellect........... (I remember you advised me re tyre pressures )

I had thought this site was a place to be able to ask questions, however stupid, without being made to feel like a **** but maybe I was wrong...........however I'm sure I'll have plenty more stupid questions where that one came from so watch this space......

I agree, perhaps some individuals should think about the fact that this is a public forum, and how their "humorous comments" could affect those viewing or asking the questions, and the reflection of the Group as a whole in the public eye.

Don't take it to heart, thankfully those with relative input outweigh those who have nothing important to say.

lol, i've been on here for a while now and still ask dumb-*** questions all the time so you're in good company

does seem a lot of people on here are a bit arsey recently, maybe it's the knock on of the credit crunch back in the good old days someone would have spotted a female posting and spent the next 3 pages of the thread asking you to post a pic of yourself! *sigh* oh well

so......... what you wearing?

nowt wrong with a bit of craic, we all have our blonde moments. If you walked into a pub and asked a question like that I would suspect you would get a similar ribbing... why is a public forum different to a public house?

I make no apologies.

i've heard worse to be honest, a mates girlfriend was driving through a long 30 mph zone bang on 25. asked why she was going so slow she replied she didn't want all of the cameras we'd driven by to go off

yes, she was talking about the signs fixed to the posts on the roadside.

didn't know wether to laugh, take the **** or slap her silly lovely girl, got a couple of A levels, just has no common sense or savvy at all

My wife on her driving test:

Instructor: "Please tell me what the next sign indicates"
My missus: "That there are fresh eggs available for sale"

He was referring to the roundabout that she was approaching at the time. Amazingly, she still passed first time.

So suddenly it's seen as socailly acceptable to use a mental disabillity as a derogatory term to describe an action, or comment by someone who majority know very little about!!

What you say to people amoungst your own friend group is up to you, what i am saying is that why should eveyone be tarnished with the same brush because of 1 individuals insensativity. You never know who may see the comments made, and who it effects even if it's not directly the person who it's aimed at.

Fair enough........but if I was in public house I would answer back as I have on here........so we're all square aren't we?
Actually I still don't think it was that stupid a question........and I think that your wife's comment on her driving test just showed what an observant person she is

Absolutely.........my little bit of umbrage is nothing compared to the possible implications for some people - anyway didn't mean to instigate a political debate so I'll just keep my mouth closed for a while

But if you wanted to look a bit less of a spanner you could always 'google' or use the 'search' facility before asking?
