Default What next? More Power...

Chaps,

My Bug STI is already fully decatted, new pump (warlboro) and ECUTEK mapped with a uprated panel filter. Currently running approx 340bhp.

What's next in the power gain mod list? Do I need to start looking at a bigger turbo? FMIC? Injectors? Any ideas?

Cheers

Bigger turbo and FPR?

Uprated fuel pressure should see your injectors last to close to 400. The intercooler you have on there already is good enough for at least 400.

Default more power or more strenghth

i am no expert but i cant help thinking we all strive to make our cars more powerfull but what about reliability ,having killed and rebuilt my engine using standard parts ,i will be investing my cash on stronger internals and parts to keep them strong before i go for more power.I cant see the point in putting a smile on your face when you get it going faster when its going to die prematurley and f***K up your day This is just my personal view and not a slur on anyone who thinks other wise good, luck with yours and i would like to here others opinion on this.

The bugeye sti have one of the strongest engines out of all the newage cars, as it had proper forged pistons not the stupid hyperutectic type ones. The bottom end will handle 400bhp no problem and can reliably be pushed closer to 450bhp.

What would be needed to get nearer the 400 figure though?

Current state of tune the car feels "fast" however lag is still an issue which would be nice to take some of that away.

Adjustable fuel pressure reg, MD321H is the turbo to go for but if on a budget a TD05 20G will get you close enough, set of ported standard headers and a remap.

With the 20G you will make anywhere from 380bhp to 400bhp and with the MD321H anywhere from 400bhp - 420bhp.
