Exhaust wrap tips
I have bought some heat wrap for my new exhaust system.
I think i read somewhere that it will be easier to apply if i soak it in water first. Is this worth doing.

Cheers folks, However the last 2 replies came to late.
I didnt get itch hands and soaking it worked perfect. I left the wrapped downpipe in the dry room and the wrap has tightened up nicley.
Exhaust fitted yesterday afternoon and my god does it sound good. JDM Twin scroll all the way baby!!! WOW! V-Tec on steroids with a turbo thrown in for good measure.

I think the need for gloves may depend on the type of wrap you use or maybe you have delicate hands Personally I never use them with DEI wrap.
When you soaked your wrap you may have noticed a discolouration of the water from the chemical impregnating the wrap and by soaking it you have washed some of it out. It also stretches too much allowing the weave to open up. I find that when soaked the wrap tends to dry quite brittle which is obviously a bad thing.
