His Evo was a stripped out Perspex windowed track car with no air con or nothing etc, hardly a fair comparison against a fully loaded hawkeye road/track car weigking a few hundred kg more!
Next time they should be a bit more thoughtful IMO in choosing cars to compare against & pick like for like.

Gav who drove the Evo is a very good driver, at TOTB last sunday he managed to beat Si Norris in his beast btw, and Si was running a good few more hundred BHP.
Ive seen it from both sides, Ive seen the scooby lot bigging themselves up, and the Evo lot too, its posted on the MLR and not here, so whats the problem? apart from the OP wanting to stir the ****.
Just for the record the scoobs won on sunday overall didn't they which shows what a good team they had out, its horses for courses, Ive now had both, althought the Evo edges it IMO, I loved my scoob too.

I love the rivalry personally. The majority of people who post on this subject just talk complete rubbish to big up their own marque. Both cars are equally matched and excel in different areas... end of IMHO.

lol, only way to get a fair comaprison, same bhp, same bhp and same driver.
first car runs for a day take readings on weather conditions and then repeat a few days later in other car.
gives time for the driver to get dialed in and get best from each car.
but having said that, its only ever mags that evo's win, time attack, totb etc etc scoobs win
not that im biased or anything

I know Gav in the evo fairly well, its around 400bhp and weighs 1180kg with almost no fuel in, its still on a standard engine with a fp green turbo and he is a brilliant driver so would need a very good scooby to get anywhere near him

Can't be bothered to read anything on the MLR forums.
and I thought Impreza owners were bad when it comes to "my car is the best in the world and nothing can beat it.......ever!"

If I wanted an Evo..I'd have bought one... but it does not stop me respecting the car's capabilty... After reading that thread I'm quite pleased I chose Subaru!.. the U R A BUS gag is older than my grandad...and it was funny back then...

what a fookin tool.
Most Evo drivers out there have come from scoobs etc like myself, no offence mate, but doesn't that tell a story?
I am not into bashing cars Ive had in the past, because my sti was more than capable of matching my current Evo, but your post is complete b0llocks my friend.

He has a point, from what I read you need to be on the Evo site to make nonsense remarks about how good your car is and how crap the opponent is
I love em both me but have to say both are the easiest cars to drive fast that I have tested so far. Not much skill required for either, which is partly why I love em lol

Both cars have good points that outweigh the other, no question.

Same old silly arguments getting trotted out. You would have thought that as both makes do a fantastic job of providing relatively cheap performance whilst flattering their drivers, there would be mutual respect.
I drive an Impreza because I found one which suited me - cheap quickish good handling family estate. I think it's great, but if there was an equivalent Evo I would have tried that too.
Some good friendly rivalry (which some people of both sides have shown) is how it should be. Comments branding drivers of the other make as 'chavs' etc. are just daft.
People on either forum slagging off the other just looks bad on all of us.
