hi all, im mat and im 19 and from blagdon Nr weston super mare
I jus bought myself a uk turbo classic so thort i wud sign up here. loving the site!!
Had the car for a week now and i love it...hell of a difference from my 1.5 civic lol

its a white 99 uk turbo 2000
has full service history and 67k on it
only mods are a full exhaust
baileys dump valve
carbon fibre rear V6 ( i think ) spoiler
and a blitz turbo timer

they previous owner was apparently a mechanic for prodrive and has had the PPP fitted but im not sure what im looking for so...lol
and apparently has a mappable ECU
i paid £3800 for her...was this a gd price??

future mods will be a set of white 17's, coilovers and full colour coding including the carbon fibre spoiler as it looks a bit odd atm. going to tart it up a bit under the bonnet and i have jus bought a new front splitter as it was cheap lol

any ways i will try and post up some pics soon
cheers

Mat

You need to take a picture of the engine, then we can point out the nice blue intercooler piping you have for the ppp, the uprated exhaust system and backbox (with prodrive written on it) and the uprated ecu
Oh and you should have a certificate and its a pretty good price too!

NFU may not be the cheepest BUT as I'm sure you know, you can walk in to the local office and they'll always do their damndest to help you, and they'll try their hardest to make sure you get a payout if the worst happens (unlike a lot of insurers who will try not to!).

p.s. they don't exclude the nurburg ring either I've just checked! for after the WRC Germany!

Great looking car there, Mat. Looks like a great base to work from if you fancy changing it at some point. I'd get that spoiler painted and maybe look at some white wheels too. Bit Essex but I think they look great in all white

at the risk of coming across as a c*nt, which isn't why i'm saying this, but you car looks like it's got a >98 bumper and >98 front callipers.

there could be lots of reasons for this and if i'm wrong i'll accept a swift kick to the *****, but at best you've got a car that doesn't look right for the year

many reasons for brining this to your attention, mainly insurance as you could come unstuck in the event of a claim.

i was thinking that the front bumper was different from other 99 spec cars....also the previous owner was saying he had replaced the radiator too
i have checked it over and the front end seems fine...it has a clear HPI and insurance didnt ask if it was a cat d or cat c or anything so im confused..!!

Insurance? £2200? Who's the name of the company that would insure a 19 year old driver with 1 years ncb on a modified scoob? mmmmm Welcome to scoobynet but just want to make sure you're covered in case of an accident!

That's a cracking car to have at 19, and tbh £2200 is a good price for a nineteen year old imo
I remember when I was 19 and was getting quotes for a 206 GTi similar to that, and that was a group 14

Yep defo change the wheels. White on white looks good, what wheels you looking to get? Get some rotas on there...will look sweet.
I quite like that CF spoiler... different to the norm.

Anyway, welcome to SN and enjoy your car

May just be the photo, but why is the rear half the car a different colour shade than the front half?

It could be a 98 car registered as a 99 car, there are a few of them out there you know
Check the chassis number, its on the drivers side in the engine bay.

christ i feel a right b'stard for worrying you mat! so much so i've had a quick trawl on the internet, hope it helps.

it's been a while since i had my 99 and i'm struggling to remember the differences, other than the 4 pot brakes on the front (have SUBARU lettering on) and the front bumper and there was a larger 'hi level' spoiler fitted. so on your car this is no help to you
the only stuff i can find is on these 2 cars
1999 SUBARU IMPREZA TURBO 2000 AWD very good condition. on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 30-Jul-08 20:00:00 BST)

Subaru : Impreza Turbo 324bhp320lb/ft P1 box DCCD

the ebay one (the 99) has a silver ring on the momo steering wheel and the lighter strips of the seats on the inside. pic 6 on the green 98 one has a black ring and the strips are on the edge.

sorry i can't be of any more help, but it's all i can remember that's cosmetic difference that hasn't been altered on your car already!

as already said i'm sure there's nothing to worry about, i only really mentioned it incase you have any insurance related issues

thanks for the heads up tho any way ppl
my insurance company insured me fine and i didnt have any problems so i guess its all good!!
