Question Best Car cleaning product for a lazy person

Hi all,

As the title really.

I am crap at getting motivated to cleaning my car. I do like it when its nice and shiny though and am far too tight to pay someone else to do it.

What is the best stuff you can just pour in a bucket of water and them wash/rinse that gives a bit of a shine?

Mines a Mica blue classic wagon.

Thanks
Matt

A spray on wax which you spray on while the car is still wet after washing and then chamois off is good. Doesnt leave any residue and looks really good.

That sounds pretty good dan, i guess you don't have to wax on wax off etc with that? Thats the bit i really can't be bothered doing.

My last scoob was black and was a nightmare to get the watermarks off etc, not cleaned this one yet so hopefully it will be a bit easier.

I suggest you do it properly once (wash/polish/wax) then you can use pretty much use whatever you want and the shine will come back time after time.

If you can't be arsed to do the whole car in one hit just do a couple of panels at a time as it will last for 6+ months if you use decent wax....

Sure the £50 wash cloth brigade may say something different though.

.....

I bought some of this as a wax

Autosmart Carnuaba Wax Gold The choice of PROFFESIONALS on eBay, also Cleaning, Waxing Valeting, Car Care, Car Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 07-Jul-08 14:44:41 BST)

cheap and so far impressed with it. I hate cleaning the car but love it when it's really shining ....

Same price and quality up my way too ... 4 guys working on washing and hand drying the car, done in minutes and they are not happy unless it is sparkling. For that sort of money, it's not worth the hassle to do yourself.

the people in my sainsburys car parks don't do the best job. water marks all over, upon closer inspections there are dirty patches but i spose it only takes up to an hour to get rid of those bits and then you have a fully cleaned car for £6 and an hours labour

I use turtlewax clear-vue when i'm feeling lazy

Its full of "shine enhancers" and you only add half a cap to one full bucket...

wash it on then rinse and dry....

gives the car a canny shine considering what it is, cant beat the full treatment tho but that takes me over 4 hours
