Default Mapping costs

What is it going to cost to get my 94 WRX STi remapped?

What should I check to make sure everything is ok before hand, and is anything worth replacing?

It has a lazy lambda sensor that doesnt seem to work well when cold?

Should I replace the MAF, or can I test it to make sure its ok?

It has a TMIC and tbh, im not too fussed about putting a FMIC in. Is there an unpgraded TMIC I can get?

How can I check what injectors / fuel pump I have?

I have a TD05 fitted and an STi V2 engine.

I would replace the lambda firstly. Although its not required when on boost but will effect your MPG greatly off boost & idle.

If the MAF is working then why i change it? The green label MAF's are pretty reliable.

Your intercooler will be restriced to about 300bhp but its pretty ineffecient. I would do the following to gain from the remap cos map it now you'll be vored with the power in short while

walbro\bosch 044 fuel pump
apexi intake kit (deletes the restrictive resonator)
full decat
440\550 injectors
Decent TMIC or FMIC.
97> Map Sensor (to run greater than 1.2bar)
An option but ported polished headers and uppipe (Harvey)
I had roughly the same spec but found the TD05 quite laggy with a FMIC although it was mapped to ensure maximum throttle response but improving the flow would of increased the spool up by an extra 500rpm which would of made a big difference IMO.

ESL or Apexi with a custom remap and your good for about 320-330bhp.

ESL?

Im not wanting to change my management if i can avoid it. im not wanting to throw £££££££'s at the car. #

I have a Blitz filter i think and a ful decat already. what is a walbro pump going to cost and is it external, as the 044 is.

how can i check to see if the MAF is working ok?

Only MY99 onwards Scoobs can have an EcuTek remap as they have FLASH memory that can be re-written with the new map.

Older scoobs can have a daughter board fitted to the ECU allow re-mapping (not sure if that's what ESL does) or you need a new programmable ECU e.g. Apexi, Simtek, etc.

So your "management" is going to have to change in some shape or form if you want it re-mapped. And it's not a bad idea on an import designed to run on 100ron fuel.
