Oh well…just had to let you all know…
Just picked mine up this morning, prodrive version…
Wowwwww……
Can’t believe I’ve got to run it in for another 900miles…
My thoughts, I gave up a pretty special car for this so I was nervous, but I can only say it is exceptional. Some people were warning me about build quality, based on this morning I strongly believe this is just not an issue anymore, it feels solid.
The seats, steering, gear postitions are just perfect, the six speed box - brilliant especially compared to previous car, its so short and precise. As for handling, all under 4500rpm of course, it just seems to be stuck to the floor, totally squatted (maybe not a word, but hey!!), the turn in is just awesome….the engine note, lovely, performance, well I’m just going to have to wait….ahhhhhh…
Things to look forward too, within 2 weeks, clock up the 1000miles, and get the 18” oz prodrives with toyo rubber, hopefully within 1-2 months, PPP and lower springs…
Anyway…I am a very, very happy NEW Subaru owner.
Only sad thing, drove down the A127 & A128 @ 50mph…!!!!

Gsti.
Also had the clear indicator lenses fitted and the 3 gauge pod fitted…

GSti,

Is there a PPP available for the STI Type UK? (non Prodrive version).., or for that matter a DEP?

Cheers

I believe the pod was a subaru one, its got turbo boast, oil temp & oil pressure, its fits in were the clock was. Matches perfectly with the interior.
As for the car I used to have, it was an RS4, handed it back to audi after owning it for 9 months.

John,

Thanks for your reply, is there any indication from Prodrive about when the PPP will be available, need to renew my company car (MYOO PPP, DEP) next Feb and it would be cool if it was available then!

Cheers

Question

'scuse the slight diversion, but why did you hand back the RS4?

Mines a WR Blue...
As for the RS4, stunning car, but then it should be for the price,
Got a bit pee'd off keep driving back to the dealers to get the wheels checked, theres a very long running saga about the RS4 & its wheels....
So my new Sti had a lot to live upto, coming from a 4wd twin turbo estate with all the creature comforts, oh, and a porsche beating 380bhp as standard.... basically I just wanted to put the fun back into my motoring....
