Default Difference between classic shape models

Hi, I am in the market for a circa 96-99 model sportwagon but if I am honest not sure what model to go for. I am looking to spend about 3k and have seen many wrx models for that price and a few sti's. Other than the interior and gearbox are there any other model differences between the 2?
