Default crack in windscreen

it is two-thirds of a semi circle (almost a crescent), slightly less than 2inches (smaller than creditcard). Bugeye 2002

Unfortunately my insurance will not cover this so i will have to pay for repair or replacement.

Can a cresent-like crack be repaired?
Auto-glass are quoting £370 for replacement. Anyone recommend any cheaper places in the east-midlands?

I've just had my glass replaced (insurance was good for it though) through RAC windscreens and I saw their invoice. I ensured they used proper subaru glass and proper subaru fitting kit (it is different - different rain side bolsters) and noticed their invoice was for £200 so plus the hours fitting I guess you may be able to get it for 300 if you shop around!

Do you mean you have no windscreen cover full stop, or that your insurance company won't pay for a replacement unless it's cracked, or smashed...?

If the latter then any "decent" windscreen replacement company with ensure it's broken for you prior to them fitting a new one I'm sure.

Just had my screen replaced by auto glass, the screen is ok but the fitter done a very bad job. Snapped trim clips and didn't have any replacements on the van, top of windscreen trim doesnt fit flat onto the screen and you can see the edges of the glass in the top corners. Opened my boot, the hole trim popped off that goes along the back screen/front screen etc. The cost of the screen was £287- plus my £60 (insurance claim) and the guy who fitted it said the insurance company gets 30% discount on screens. Will be phoning auto glass in the morning.
