closed deck block
can anyone help me out i am looking to purchase a new 2.5l closed deck block and parts to build a 500/500 engine and also parts i will need to achieve this i am not looking to build this on budget parts i am looking to have everything fully forged anyhelp will be greatly appreciated
Dont think you will find a EJ257 CDB - a lot of folks have the EJ20 CDB machined and linered to take the EJ257 rear thrust crank and linered out to the size you need eg 97.50 for a Stroker or 99.50 for a 2.5l.

See Api, they can the whole job.
Btw you cant buy an off the shelf closed deck 2.5. It will need some engineering to make it a closed deck or use a 2.0ltr CDB and have it sleeved to make it a 2.5ltr. I hope you have very big pockets, in the region of £15,000 or more.

ime having a 2.5l cdb built by pennine subaru in hebdon bridge its a 2.0l cdb bored and sleeved then machined to take the 2.5l crank.it is being built with forged pistons and rods, racing bearings and everything else you need to build the bulletproof engine even with the build and fitting and mapping your looking at nowhere near 15k.
the car i have is a 2000 turbo my00 its got 80000 miles on the clock would it be worth going for the same engine and getting it fully forged or could it be done with my own engine any help is much appreciated

[QUOTE=serega;7985568]One of your other options is to take a 2.5 and and use darton sleeves which makes the engine much stronger, i think you can make your 2.5 a 2.7 with this kit as well as the bores are bigger:

these are whats being used in my engine the darton sleeves thats why the end rusult is a 2.5l.

This is not a darton sleeve, thats a normal sleeve that was taken off.
And you cant resleeve a 2.0 closed deck block because sleeves cant be taken off..

Have a look at raw performance... Used to be called Axis who machined the engine in my 2.2 EJ22t cdb.

Chris, the previous owner dealt with Ron and he was apparently excellent. They are based in the US but as you are in no rush, could be the way forward.
Best of luck

[QUOTE=serega;7985816]as ive never seen a darton sleeve i couldnt tell what they look like all i no is thats whats being fitted to my 2.0l cdb and the end result is going to be a 2.5l thus making a 2.5l cdb and it can be done as there are a few people on here running the same engines for example, banny sti, stevebt, to name a couple.
