Well, so they thought, but not quite!

No doubt the title will be the posting on the respective Vauxhaull and BMW bbs's - should they exist?

So, story 1
Going to work in the morning thru Mitcham up to Sutton. Stop at lights, left lane, M3 E30 pulls up in right hand lane, sits there all the time revving the engine and thinking how sexy he must be. Lights change, road narrows from two lanes into one, he goes, i go, my turbo wakes up and shoot right past him. Then i see the **** has his fog lights on!, so i put my rears on...for goodness sakes, its 7.30am!. Look in my rear view mirror and see he is so desperate to overtake that he almost drives into the roadworks in the middle lane on the approach to Rose Hill rounabout. Pull up next to each other at roundabout, i give him my "dont be so silly grin" (thanks Dan Fishlips for teaching me that one whilst playing with a Volvo turbo driver!), anyhow, he is too embarrassed to look over!

Story 2
On way home, different route, pull up at another set of lights. Mr Nova lad pulls up next to me with his rather tastefully modded Nova (except tinted windows which still reveal his 2 for 1 Big Mac eating girfriend with acne and fake fur coat). So, lights change, he's in the right hand lane and decides he's gonna try it on. So off he goes, i let him go, then nail it, revs get to 3k and , roooooooaar, straight past him with a perfectly timed gear change to second which made such a pop and a bang that i am sure the exhaust must have flamed.....He then stays well back to avoid being on the receiving end of the patented (and often imitated, but never equalled) Danny Fishlips grin!

Why cant people just leave us alone!

Don't be so sure I had a 156 V6 with factory fitted sports exhaust - similar power to standard scoob, FWD so less traction/grip, but FWD so less transmission loss. Could keep up with standard UK scoobs no problem, until the twisties

Still miss the 156 now, beautiful car, beautiful engine/exhaust note <insert wistful looking smiley> but wouldn't change the Scoob for one now

I like your style - take the mick out of a Nova driver then uses the word 'whooped'...

Question

So then Mr GP, seeing as you seem to think you have such a command over the Queens English, what word would you consider more appropriate and why do you associate the word "whooped" with Nova drivers anyhow?. You must bear in mind that the avergae reading age of a scoobynet user is about 10 yrs, so i have to use words which will not confuse you lot

I would just like to say that, the art of 'GRINNING' took my years to learn.

Sunil, if it wasn't for the bigger turbo, they both would have beaten you!!!

Gary - totally agree - except this was 2 litre, not the 2.5V6 - which as you said is a very nice car.

Cheers

Any Idea how fast a 350 Bhp Cossie should be ??

Very similar area to Sunil.
From Rose Hill roundabout going down the dual carriage way to Morden, Grey Cossie Saff glued to my back bumper.

Stop at the lights half way down, Im going to turn right, Mr Cossie [Arronn] pulls up along the inside, big for sale sign on the window, 350 Bhp Conversion, stage 3 head, blah blah call Arronn on 07xxxxxxxxxxx, my dad looks at the Mr. cossie and laughs that its a pity we were turning right, cossie reving the nuts off of it, lights go green, red mist drops and we both leave the lights like scalded cat, obeying the 40 limit of course, Mr Cossie not happy with me or my dad laughing our heads off as he could not show off his mighty cossis agains a humble 93 WRX with about 240 Bhp, & yes he was trying before you ask, I could see the crap coming out of his car in my mirrors.

When I show a car a clean pair of heels, they always seam to steam up behind me when you slow for traffic or speed restrictions etc - inches from my bumper, trying it on again.
No-one ever seems to think "this guy just left me for dead, his car is MUCH faster than mine so I will keep my distance"
They seem to think that they can produce another 100bhp from no-where & suddenly keep up....happens all the time on motorways.....

Brew.

Oh here is one to make you laugh!!
Ive a sonic blue my00 turbo, im on my way home from visiting a friend of mine who has just got herself a nice ford escort cab si, very nice car, so there i was driving back when i pass this escort cab (xr3i) on the motorway (was doing 85ish, he was doing 75ish) so pass him, 10 seconds later he flys past me and slows down, now im thinking, 105bhp to 218bhp??? hmmmmmm so i pass him, then he tried it on again so i floored it in 5th (sorry the boy racer got the best of me!!) and just out paced him.
carried on for a while until he passed me and i moved over to change motorways, then he did the same, got to the tight left hand corner (40mph) then he tried to out accellerate me!!!!! oh well showed him that my exaust pipe was better than looking at my lights in his mirror ahhhhh gave me baby a good blast at the end of the day
Ok you can shout at me now for speeding on the motorway!!

Whoever told Peugot 406 coupe drivers that they can eat scoobies, please put them right before I do.

I like it when you leave them for dead, and start to cruise along at speed limit. Then all of a sudden (you've forgeten about them by this point) they come flying past doing a ton. This always makes me chuckle.
