Default Version 8 bonnet scoop/undertray

Hi chaps,
I know this will have been asked many times but will the V8 STI bonnet scoop fit into the WRX easily and would it require the STI undertray to go with it.
Thanks Trevor

The WRX & STi bonnet are the same, so either scoop will fit.
The WRX undertray will fit under the STi scoop.
Things only get complicated if an STi intercooler is being used with a WRX scoop. The STi intercooler requires the STi undertray for maximum cooling.

Thanks,
I've upgraded my intercooler (AVO) it's quite a lot bigger than the WRX and it may be a tad bigger than STI so I'll seek out the STI undertray as well.
Cheers

Failing getting an STi undertray you could always get a ZeroSports cool action to fit instead

Old satimless versions did but got an alloy one so light as a feather, still utilises the rubber strip from an STi undertray tho to create a seal on the ic

Agreed. Much better & blinger than the OE undertray. I did a Group Buy on these back in April.

GROUP BUY CLOSED CLICK HERE

I fitted a CF STi scoop, a STi intercooler & the ZeroSports cool action undertray to my WRX Stealth Wagon. Bearing in mind my old undertray is the smaller WRX one it weighed 1650 grams compared to the larger STi Zero/Sports one that weighed 850 grams. So apart from being more efficient it saves 800 grams from fairly high up the car. The saving will be greater if you are replacing a standard STi undertray as they weigh even more.

The old steel versions are heavy. The new version II is light weight ally. 850 grams. They aint cheap but are a quality bit of kit. I priced up second hand steel STi ones & it was worth the extra to me for the ally one.

I'm behind the times then - the last one I used weighed a ton and didn't make a decent seal to the IC.
Pricey, but the std ones can be difficult to find from a breaker.

Yes they have improved a fair old bit. The seal to the IC wasn't a problem as it is predrilled to mount the OE STi rubber skirt & it has even got the cut outs for the IC spray nozzles as well. The only bit I had to tinker with was the seal between it & the underside of my WRX bonnet. A couple of strips of heavy duty draught excluder sorted it out.
