Exclamation TRADER RATING POLLS

I am sure there are many folks on Scoobynet who could do with some advice when it comes to choosing which company to work on their pride and joy and who to spend their hard earned cash with. I only think it's fair that the companies that offer a good service get credit for it and those that rip customers off, loose business.

This has resulted from a thread yesterday, detailing real (and not very good) experiences with a particular trader that went AWOL. See https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...g-threads.html

I propose setting up a poll for each supplier, for users to rate them. Please vote in the polls and by all means explain why you have voted as you did, but try to avoid getting personal or making any liabilous comments, otherwise the mods will just delete them. I will start off with some of the major suppliers, then please by all means, copy the text and format from one of my polls and start your own for other suppliers.

How would you rate your overall experience with xxxxxxxxx

1. Very good - Highly recommended

2. Good - Recommended

3. Average - Make your own mind up

4. Poor - Not recommended

5. Very Poor - Stay well away

There is a possibility that these threads will be moved to the Traders and Third Party section of the forum, so if they go missing, look for them there.

It is time for a bit of consumer power.

I think if you vote that you should comment.

If you don't, then who knows if you have ulterior motives, and if you post up the issue that may or may not have had then it is only fair that the supplier can take you to task on it if he so wishes. Otherwise the supplier and the potential SN member wanting to use them won't gain anything from it at all.

And you should not vote if the experience is not yours personally. Heresay invariably is innaccurate and exaggerated.

The mods need to make them sticky threads as well, so they stay at the top and stop newbies coming along and posting a new thread asking if a certain company is ok as they can't be bothered to sift through thousands of pages of posts

I think its more likely they will be deleted instead.

As often has been noted and said; Scoobynet is NOT a democracy. No matter how much of a community its supposed to be nor how much the users want such a feature.

If you want to post a poll, I suggest this is not the correct way to ensure it will remain here. You should ask the webmaster (by PM or email - note that the "scoobynet policy" is not an inbox for the webmaster ), and/or ask the companies involved in the poll for their permission. These companies mentioned in the polls also need to be authorised advertisers.

Legally speaking; The webmaster needs permission of the listed companies to post a poll on this website, and it needs to be moderated to ensure that it is a "true" reflection of the views on that company. In an ideal world, that is what would happen; but its not - one cannot prove that opinions are reflective of a company by mere posts from anonymous users. And the "scoobynet team" (whoever they are these days) will not have enough time to monitor such matters (going by how they complain about how much time SN takes up as it is ).

Thought I get the above in, just so you can prepare yourself for when somone with adminstrative rights trots along and clicks the vape button (am I starting to sound like Marcus? ).

In the mean time, whilst this lot remains unnoticed by admin; vote away

I don't think that these two polls (Scoobyclinic and the Zen Performance) is the right way to go about this sort of thing. It is just going to turn into a slagging match and somebody is going to get hurt and quite frankly it is getting ridiculous and sad.

There is no reason why it should turn into slagging match if the posters just give their own experience, and post it in a factual and un-antagonistic matter.

Good idea having the pools but maybe should include other traders as well seems to be singling one place out a little.

All good commments guys. I am not trying to start a war, or cause trouble, I believe these will add real value. I want people to post up polls for the companies they have dealt with, using the same format. There are definitely more than two companies with polls listed already. I think these polls should be viewed in a generally positive light. The response from Zen Performance was spot on and what I would expect from such a professional and customer focused company. There are bound to be some folks with hidden agendas who will try to skew the results, but with enough people over time, should give a realistic view on the companies performance.

Agree these need to be stickied!

If the mods want to change all the polls, so that votes are shown and not anonymous, then please feel free! I should have done it from the begining, granted.

Its about time sonething like this was done. I have been stung with my previous scooby by 2 companies which are not listed, but if I had seen something like this I would have been able to make an informed choice.
Why when we spend thousands of pounds shouldnt we know what the companies are like?

i agree, when i was looking to have my engine rebuilt it was a minefield of who to use,as its a lot of money for some people,if theres a company with a good rep with references to back it up it helps. For the record i used a local company who arent on the list, heard of through word of mouth but wouldnt use again

Please guys, go ahead, I don't have time to do one for every company. Here is how:

Click New Thread,

For the thread title, type the company name,

in the text type

"How would you rate you experience with [insert company name]"

followed by

For background on these polls, please see this thread https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ing-polls.html

then at the bottom, select the Poll check box and 5 as the number of poll options. When you submit thread, it will take you to the poll setup page.

For the question, retype in
"How would you rate you experience with [insert company name here]?"

then from top to bottom, copy and paste in these options.

Very good - Highly recommended

Good - Recommended

Average - Make your own mind up

Poor - Not recommended

Very Poor - Stay well away

If someone has not used a particular company but is thinking of doing so they do not have an opinion as they have no experience of the company in question but they still want access to the poll results so you need to have an option for DON'T KNOW. Otherwise your poll is flawed.

STiFreak i think you did good starting these threads.

Would be nice to know if the prices some these places charge are value for money or not. Need a new thread on that.

Just worried that unhappy customers are still reluctant to voice their views because of comment combacks on here by some company allied members
