Urgh! Help me please!

Can someone tell me how to identify the dimensions of a wheel nut? I know it sounds ridiculous, but I need a 12 x 1.5 wheel nut and no bloody car place has any idea what they would look like..... Unfortunately I do not have one to show them either. So what does that 12 x 1.5 apply to? Any genius out there know?
Cheers

12 x 1.5 is the thread size for nut (or bolt for that matter)
12 = Diameter (mm)
1.5 I think is thread pitch (mm)
You should be able to get wheel nuts from main dealer
Hope this helps

The usual way of distinguishing a metric bolt or nut is by using the prefix "M"
Your reference to "12" relates to 12 millimetres diameter, or M12 in my terminology.
The 1.5 would denotes the pitch of the thread, again in millimetres, from ridge to ridge.
But....the standard pitch on an M12 thread is 1.75mm.
Therfore you are after an M12 nut with a FINE thread.
For reference.....
