Default Need some advice on registering an import.

Basically looking at getting a newer model than i've got now, a 97. The bloke has given me a price that i'm quite happy with (although i've not seen the car yet) He imports and sells cars himself and says he's filled all the paperwork out and i'd just need to send £150 to the DVLA to register it and get the tax inclusive of the price, does this sound about right?

Also are there any other things I need to do when registering? Or other questions I need to ask him?

Many thanks

You need to make sure that the car has an SVA test certificate, it should also have a rear foglight fitted, be converted for MPH and see if the restrictor is still on the car or not (these cars are restricted to 180kmh or 112mph normally).
Do a quick search for esva or sva, should give you some bits on what has to be done to the car, oh and it probably needs an MOT cert also
