Would my "baton" be classed as an offensive weapon? LOL

Why would you want an asp or a baton in your car?

If police pull you over and check your boot, this will only get them suspicious.

Try a hockey stick or golf club instead

I find that a 4 Cell Maglite sitting alongside the seat-runners and the transmission tunnel works well. Useful too when you need to find a house number in the dark or check under the car. Easily accessable.

(Note - do your own testing as I accept no responsibility for badly located torches that slide out under braking & get mixed up with your feet)

Ditto that, just about fits in the drivers door pocket in my classic

A very 'solid' item.....

Just make sure it's a Maglite not a Fleshlite! You'd feel a bit of a c**t.

As far as I'm aware ASP's are a very bad idea to get caught with. Me and a few friends used to have them, can't remember the site though.
They were the big 21" inch ones, bit too hefty really, the dog handler ones we get issued are just a fraction smaller and much better to weild.

Foolishness. An ASP or other extendable baton for 'self defence' in a car? Better to grow up and not get out of it. The OPs name sums this up.....

A 9mm is for girls. You need a tricky .44Magnum or maybe a custom .50.....

i used to keep one in my cossie, a police style extending batton...

little tip, remove your bonnet stay, then when you get pulled, you can show them your 'heavy duty emergency bonnet holder upperer' lol

corse, i wouldnt admit to carrying such a thing nowadays

if you must carry something as "girly" as a bat , just keep a ball in the same compartment job done ,

up here in Inverness knives are the thing to be seen with ! your no a real chavvy unless you carry a chib !!
still think a deagle or one of these would be better !

What do all you people think is going to happen to have to carry weapons in your cars.

If you did have a baton in your car and ever did need to use it (even in self defence) you would still be done for carrying it. I would never dream of carrying a weapon of any kind, all it will do is make any situation worse.

If you are that worried just keep you doors locked when you are in the car

Stoppa Ltd The Unbreakable Walking Stick Umbrella info

Not that I advocate carrying weapons apart from a handgun where legally permitted to do so.

Problem is even if you do carry a baton, chances are you won't know how to use it properly, or keep hold of it, and if you never practice, which i doubt you would unless your
a) in police or
b) a nutter or
c)both

someone will take it off you and wrap it round your head
