hey, i was wondering if anybody has done it, whats the easiest way to change a clutch on a 93 wrx, cheers?

if youve got the tools you could save £££ think you can just drop the g.box but i had to take the engine out anyway when mine was done do a search on here mate

Drop the gearbox and replace the clutch/flywheel onto the crank in situ. The 5 speed gearbox is fairly light so not too much of a problem lifting with just a jack. Just remember to check the new clutch once the fork release pin is fitted to check the thrust bearing is connected properly before replacing all the bolts and prop and drive shafts etc.

yeah ive got the tools, im tempted to tackle it but i aint keen on doing things i havent done. and also im pretty sure u need to do something before removing the box in order to release the spigot shaft, anybody help?

my option was to book it in a garage tomoz and pay then 120 pounds\ to do it lol

You will need to remove the release pin on the near side of the gearbox in front of the slave cylinder to enable you to detach the fork/gearbox from the thrust bearing on the clutch. Otherwise the gearbox will not seperate from the clutch.

ah thanks alot, thats probably what id be looking for. i got quoted £288 plus vat in a subaru garage so i thought i might give it a go myself. see if i can get a shot of the garage i work in for a few hours. thanks alot guys
