Go mine from DVLA, simple and a piece of **** to do. Took ten minutes to get a new Tax Disc, MOT and the V5 took 5 days.

Do do it!
Not a pain in the backside for me and I have moved mine across 4 cars now
My only tip is dont be a retard and get one that has to be spaced illegally in order to almost say a word e.g. S60 BBY being butchered into SCOOBY as this will not only make you look like a pillock, but will also attract attention from the old bill...
Also, funny fonts, subaru logos etc or little quotes on a reg plate will also brand you as a chromosone donor...
So choose well (off the DVLA site) and enjoy it

Another vote for the DVLA site. I got mine about four years ago and have had it on three cars with the only hastle being having to wait a week for it to transfer.
I found that the other sites appeared to buy them from the DVLA one and then add some more money on. So even if you see one on another site, check to see if it's available through the DVLA.

dvla mate . but the dvla are a bunch of useless ***** . i just got my plate back after 2 years and alot of money , after they LOST it !!!! dicks
I found the plate I wanted in 98 on a UK reg plate site. By chance I then tried the DVLA site and found it for far less. (Over £1200 less)The plate had never been issued and the site were acting as an intermediary. Also with DVLA the £80 to cover transfer is included as is VAT. BIG
from me. I've swapped my plates over 10 to 12 cars without a problem
